Capacity building

Helping you build and transfer your skills and knowledge

Capacity building is about passing on skills and knowledge to trainers, educators and extension workers who are helping to open up new markets. As a world-class training foundation, PTC+ helps NGOs, educational institutions and businesses, as well as local, regional and national governments improve local training capacity in horticulture, agriculture and animal husbandry.

What makes us unique

Working with PTC+ gives you three advantages:

  • We always apply targeted teaching, together with a practical, hands-on approach to learning.
  • We are your one-stop shop for support at every stage of the value chain.
  • We are dedicated to ensuring all our work is sustainable - not only environmentally, but also economically. In fact, supporting the long-term economic viability of all our projects is one of our top priorities.

What we can offer

Depending on the specific requirements of your project, we can help you build sustainable capacity in a number of ways.

  • Providing market analysis. To ensure you can deliver the most beneficial training, we always thoroughly analyse the target market to assess its capacity and unique requirements, as well as the potential for new, profitable products.
  • Building market links. To ensure your new capabilities are profitable, we help you establish strong connections to industry, as well as local and international markets.
  • Developing skills and facilities. To develop skills and facilities that are directly relevant to your actual working environments, we always apply a hands-on approach to training.
  • Training the trainer. To enable your coaching staff to transfer vital skills and knowledge to their own students, our 'train the trainer' programmes give your team all the skills they need to keep their new abilities sharp and effective, and to use the same practical approach we follow in our own courses.
  • Being your partner. Where appropriate, PTC+ can also become more directly involved in your project, and take on an enhanced role as a private partner rather than a 'contractor'.
