Hoof care in cattle
Introduction
PTC+ is world renown as the training institute for hoof care and cattle hoof trimming. PTC+ has developed a unique method of hoof trimming in cooperation with the Utrecht University of Veterinary Medicine; the so-called 'Dutch Method' of hoof trimming.
Training in the Dutch Method of hoof trimming has been executed in over 50 countries around the world.

For whom it is intended
This training is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced hoof trimmers.
Your final destination
At the end of the course a Certificate of Attendance is awarded.
For experienced hoof trimmers there is a possibility to do an official exam. If passed the Diploma Dairy Cattle Pedicure is awarded.
Content of training/course
After the training you are able to trim feet independantly. Subjects that are dealt with in the course are:
- Conformation of the foot
- Diseases of the foot; symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment
- Management measures in relation to hoof problems
- Maintenance of tools and equipment
- Application of hoof blocks
- Practical trimming
Duration of study, minimum number of participants and prices
The training takes 5 days (Monday to Friday).
The first day starts at 10.30 h, the other days at 8.40 h. Days end at 16.35 h, fridays at 14.40 h.
The training is executed with a minimum of 6 participants.
The training fee is € 1,000.- including lesson material; boarding excluded.
Date, location and route description
The training centre of PTC+ in Oenkerk is the location for the training. Several dairy farms in the surrounding of Oenkerk are used for practical sessions.
The next training is scheduled for:
8 till 12 March 2010
If a group is formed, this training can be executed in any country. Fees have to be negotiated.
