Submenu Training
Dairy Cattle Feeding in Practice
Introduction
For the composition of a good ration for dairy cattle two aspects are very important: good quality roughage and the correct supplementation level with concentrates. These two aspects are essential for a healthy and optimal producing dairy cow herd. For this purpose PTC+, in coöperation with Rovecom ICT, has developed the “Dairy cattle feeding in practice” course. This Course, which for a large part is executed by PTC+, takes place on the dairy farm of PTC+ Oenkerk.
Your final destination
After completing the course participants will be able to judge the quality of available roughages and to compose balanced rations with available feedstuffs present on a dairy farm. Participants will be able to recognize signs of sub-optimal feeding management in the stable and how feeding management can be improved on such dairy farms.
Advisors which participated in this course indicated that the Course had improved their knowledge and skill levels and that they had improved their self confidence levels in advising dairy farmers in feeding management.
